Frame generation
Frame generation draws an extra frame between every two real ones, so motion looks smoother: a game running at 30 frames per second shows 60. It is off by default because it has costs:
- About half a frame more delay between your input and the screen (around 15 ms at 30 fps).
- Small, fast-moving things can get a faint halo.
- It only runs when the game is at most half your display's refresh rate. With no frame rate limit set, the limit becomes half the refresh rate, so the doubled frames land evenly.
Turn it on per game in the game's Settings (Frame generation), in the quick panel or the full overlay, or with Shift+F6 while playing. It needs the game's In-game tools on and isn't available for OpenGL games.
